Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are our technicians qualified?

A: Yes all our technicians are qualified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration) in carpet cleaning, water damage restoration and occupational health and safety practices. Registered Number: 124143

Q: Is Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions insured?

Q: Do we guarantee our work?

A: Yes, the work we undertake is fully guaranteed. If you are not happy with any cleaning performed, we will return at no cost to you until you are completely satisfied.

Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

A: At least every 12 months - it has actually been proven that carpets that are periodically cleaned and protected have a longer life span and durability than carpets that are cleaned less frequently. Allergy sufferers and properties with pets may need more regular cleaning depending on individual circumstances. Carpet is also healthier for allergy sufferer’s than floorboards if maintained regularly, because carpet acts as a barrier for dirt and dust instead of circulating through the air.

Q: How soon can I walk on the carpet after it is cleaned?

A: Carpets cleaned using the Chem-Dry system can be walked on within 1-2 hours of completed cleaning. We even provide disposable booties free of charge so you can walk on the carpet immediately.

Q: Is it safe for kids, babies and pets?

A: Yes. Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions uses only safe and non-toxic carpet and upholstery cleaning products. We also specialise in Pet Urine Removal Treatment (PURT).

Q: How often should I have my carpets protected?

A: At least every 3 years to maximize the long term durability of your carpet. With consistent periodical cleaning and protection your carpets life span and overall appearance will be at least double that of any carpet that is less frequently maintained.

Q: What is the difference between "Hot Carbonation" and "General Steam Cleaning"?

A: Many carpet steam cleaners use a high pressure machine which "blasts" water into your carpet which can cause over wetting of carpet and longer drying times. The problem with this type of cleaning is that when your carpet is wet for a long period of time you can cause shrinking plus delamination and promote the breeding of bacterial mould within the backing of your carpet and underlay. This can be of serious health concern for the occupants of the home or premises. Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions carbonation process promotes the "lifting" of soiling using our famous "The Natural" carbonation solution which does not need excessive amounts of water to extract soiling from carpet pile because the carbonation lifts and suspends the soiling to the surface for extraction and in turn does not damage or create a health issue with your carpet.

Q: Why do some carpet cleaning companies have cheaper prices than Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions?

A: Quite simply, they are not interested in solution based carpet cleaning, they are only interested in getting in and out as quickly as possible. A common occurrence is advertising a cheaper price, then charging extra to remove each stain or spot. Many customers have probably experienced stains disappearing when the carpet is wet, but when it dries, the stains re-appear because it has not been treated thoroughly using the correct methods. Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions always treat spots and stains individually before cleaning, thus eliminating the re-appearance of the marked areas.

We guarantee you will receive the most professional clean possible, otherwise we will return at no charge.
